Challenge
Sports is the hardest category in this set for one reason: almost all of the footage is owned. Broadcast rights are aggressively enforced, and a sports edit that performs well is precisely the one that attracts a takedown. Most channels in this category are building on borrowed time.
The format is also unusually demanding. Sixty seconds, a moment the audience may already know the outcome of, and no room to build context.
Solution
The piece was built without broadcast footage. Motion graphics, data visualisation, stadium audio and licensed imagery carry the moment instead, which removes the rights exposure entirely and produces something visually distinct from every other edit of the same event.
Structurally the edit opens on the consequence and works backwards, so a viewer who knows the result still has a reason to watch. Captions carry the narrative for muted viewing.
What thisdemonstrates
Sports content produced without rights exposure. A genuine constraint most studios in this category have not solved. The graphics-led approach also re-versions cleanly for regional audiences, which matters in a category where the same moment is watched in dozens of markets.
