Repurposing Editing Captions Vertical

Challenge

Repurposing is easy to claim and hard to prove. Every studio says it can cut long-form into shorts; the actual skill is knowing which second a clip should start on, and that is invisible in a finished piece.

The second problem is that most clipped podcast content underperforms for a reason nobody sees: it opens on the setup rather than the payoff, and the payoff arrives after the audience has left.

Solution

We made the skill the subject. The same recording is cut twice—once opening on the host’s question, once opening on the answer—and shown in sequence with the retention curve overlaid. The difference is visible rather than asserted.

Formatting was handled per platform rather than exported once: crop, caption placement and safe zones adjusted for each destination, with subtitles burnt in centrally so nothing collides with a platform interface.

What thisdemonstrates

Editorial judgement, shown rather than described. For any client producing long-form content, this is the piece that explains what they are paying for when they buy repurposing.
